Customers needing assistance for any event at The Holmes Center should notify the Ticket Office of the type of assistance needed at the time of purchase. A variety of special services are obtainable including wheel chair seating, assisted listed devise equipment and interpreter services. For non-ticketed events such as exhibit and trade shows, or free events, ADA services are available for customers. It is best that customers contact our Business Office at 828.262.7890 x113 or our Ticket Office at x118 for ADA services needed. The Holmes Center will make every effort to make "reasonable accommodations" for customers requesting special services.

The Holmes Center Ticket Office will only exchange reserved seating tickets in order to accommodate guests with disabilities. Non-disabled guests holding tickets to wheelchair locations or modified aisle seats will be relocated in order to accommodate disabled guests. If you need a wheelchair location in order to be accommodated, please check your ticket and make sure it is marked "Wheelchair Space for the Disabled." If this language is not on the ticket, you have purchased a conventional seat and the ticket must be exchanged for the proper ticket. If a wheelchair user exchanges a conventional seat ticket for a wheelchair location ticket, The Holmes Center Ticket Office will make an effort to place the wheelchair user in the closest or comparable wheelchair location to the ticket that was returned to the Holmes Center Ticket Office. Please be aware that wheelchair locations are specifically reserved for guests in wheelchairs until The Holmes Center Ticket Office decide to infill these locations and seats with non-disabled guests.

Ticket fraud includes, but is not limited to, misrepresentation of a disability and/or the production and use of counterfeit or stolen tickets to the Holmes Center Ticket Office events not properly purchased through The Holmes Center Ticket Office or its authorized ticket distributors. The Holmes Center and Appalachian State University considers ticket fraud to be extremely serious and will take appropriate action to prevent any such incidents. Guests holding fraudulent tickets are subject to ejection from The Holmes Center without reimbursement or restitution and may be subject to criminal prosecution as allowed by law.

The Holmes Center Ticket Office will provide wheelchair users a reasonable opportunity to purchase tickets prior to selling these tickets to the general public. When wheelchair space locations and modified aisle seats are not purchased by guests with disabilities, the Holmes Center Ticket Office may infill these seat locations with non-disabled guests. The best way to assure yourself the best ticket and companion seat(s) is to purchase your tickets as early as possible in the desired category. Please remember that the tickets are sold on a first-purchase basis and there is no guarantee that any tickets will remain unsold for any specific event.

Wheelchair companion seats are reserved for the companions of guests confined to wheelchairs. Wheelchair space ticket purchasers may purchase companion seats for all events at the Holmes Center. The number of companion seats available depends upon the number of wheelchair users and companion seats sold closest to the desired wheelchair section in each of the ticketing categories. Once again, tickets are sold on a first-come first-serve basis and there is no guarantee that any companion tickets will remain unsold and available for any specific event.

The handicap accessible entrance to The Holmes Center is located at the top of the exterior access ramp on the Southwest corner of the facility. This ticket office/entrance will be open at every ticketed event in The Holmes Center. On non-event days, tickets may be purchased through the main ticket office located inside the lower level business entrance below the exterior access ramp at the Southwest corner of the facility.
